Lesbianas de Argentina y todo el Mercosur se reunirán en Rosario

Unas 400 mujeres participarán de distintas actividades en la facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario El 3 y el 4 de mayo en el marco del Primer Encuentro Nacional organizado por el Espacio de Articulación Lésbica de Argentina (Espartiles), entidad que nuclea activistas independientes e integrantes de diversas organizaciones a nivel nacional, y que viene trabajando desde 2004 por los derechos de las mujeres lesbianas y bisexuales.
El Encuentro se desarrollará principalmente en forma de talleres, pero también habrá conferencias, exposiciones plásticas y fotográficas, recitales, varieté poética y literaria, muestra cinematográfica, tango entre mujeres, actividades deportivas y sociales, performances teatrales y feria temática. Se llevará a cabo también la Primera Marcha Nacional de Mujeres Lesbianas y Bisexuales.
El objetivo es acercar a las lesbianas y mujeres bisexuales del todo el país, para compartir historias, experiencias y proyectos, para estrechar lazos y fortalecerse, pero además, para discutir la forma de cambiar la cultura, para organizarse y plantear las propias demandas, para construir un espacio imprescindible de intercambio y cooperación desde el desafío y el respeto que supone la diversidad.
En tanto, el viernes 2 de mayo a las 9 de la mañana habrá una actividad especial en el Concejo Municipal en donde activistas y ediles dialogarán sobre la ciudadanía y políticas para las lesbianas y bisexuales.

Sin ocultar su condición de lesbiana, Blanca Durán afronta la alcaldía de Chapinero (Colombia)

Blanca Durán es bogotana y quiere que en la localidad que dirige todos los grupos vivan en tolerancia. Al fondo, Luna, su gata.

La nueva mandataria sabe que estará en la mira de todos pero su defensa es que la vida no se agota con su condición.

Por eso, quiere que su localidad sea, más que un territorio LGBT, libre de homofobia. "Que tribus de emos y punketos; homosexuales y heterosexuales vivamos en paz".

No fue fácil salir del closet
Abrir la puerta y salir del clóset se lo debe Blanca Durán a un aspecto humano y a otro electrónico que se juntaron para darle el valor. Fue hace 8 años.

La primera ayuda fue una mujer, una santandereana que conoció mientras trabajó en Bucaramanga en temas de reinserción, y con quien pudo aceptar su condición sexual sin una relación. Después, tuvieron un año de amores, al escondido y viviendo en ciudades diferentes.

Y la otra fue Internet. "Allí me di cuenta de que no era la única en el mundo, ni un bicho raro. Encontré a muchas personas para hablar y fue una puerta a la libertad", asegura Durán, recién llegada del salón de belleza, lugar que frecuenta más desde que se posesionó como alcaldesa.

No es que antes no fuera vanidosa. Pero ahora debe andar de 'punta en blanco'. En la peluquería le ayudan con su nuevo rol y con un maquillaje que le resalta sus ojos claros y su mirada.

Pero la sencillez de esta mujer de 36 años, ingeniera industrial de la Universidad de los Andes, sí es la misma de siempre, según quienes la conocen, porque eso, afirma, no es negociable.


Su casa queda a dos cuadras del trabajo
Su casa es como ella. Los muebles necesarios. Desde la ventana se ve la arquitectura imponente de la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá. Durán vive en el corazón de la localidad que dirige, en un edificio viejo cuyo ascensor traquea. Tiene la carrera 13 a pocos metros y la oficina a dos cuadras.

Su actual compañera sentimental, que estudió mercadeo y pidió omitir su nombre, también es una mujer sencilla.

Se sienta al lado de Blanca y la toma de la mano. Para ellas el amor no es un lío -llevan juntas casi dos años-, pero saben que es un sentimiento para mostrar en pocos escenarios: sus apartamentos, cuando van de visita como pareja a la casa de la familia de Durán y con amigos.

"El mundo sigue siendo homofóbico", dice Durán. Y agrega que, de todas maneras, "cuando uno se asume, piensa que para los demás es fácil hacerlo y no es así".

Además, había todo un antecedente religioso: "Vengo de una familia evangélica, estudié en un colegio con esa filosofía, fui guía de jóvenes, predicaba, evangelizaba... ¡Y no sabía que era lesbiana!"

La amiga de Bucaramanga le dio el empujón más fuerte y su mamá también, con una pregunta de mamá: "¿Su mercé por qué es que solo sale con mujeres?" Durán sacó valor y le explicó.

"Mi mamá lloró mucho. Inicialmente lo asumió como una enfermedad de la que me podía curar. El proceso se dio más libremente cuando entendí que para ella no era fácil, que no tenía que aceptarme porque sí, sino por lo que yo representaba", dice.

Y en las audiencias públicas fue su escudera. "Que no me le vayan a decir nada, mija, de lo suyo, porque se meten conmigo", le decía.

La compañera sentimental de Durán ha asumido su nuevo rol de pareja de la alcaldesa con las implicaciones que este lleva. "Tenía unos contratos con la Alcaldía de Chapinero a los que renuncié cuando Blanca fue elegida. Así como uno tiene derechos y ha peleado por ellos, también tiene deberes", afirma.

En el fondo, la pareja es distinta. Blanca ya no rumbea tanto como antes. Su compañera, por el contrario, adora parrandear y necesita paciencia para convencer a Durán de salir a los bares.
Pero a la hora de los juegos de mesa no discuten, compiten, porque les encantan a las dos.
