BIRTH WOMEN IN INDIA

In India, the many organizations working to eliminate systematic discrimination to which women are subjected in this country, also commemorate this day and will no doubt echo of the great walls of intolerance with which face their efforts in defending women's rights: centuries of tradition and religion and demolition of harassment against female, that have placed women at the bottom of the social ladder. Hinduism, the main religion, and which has great influence even among the non-Hindu population, and Manu Code (Code of Moral Period of Hinduism and Puranico Epic) basis of morality popular today, make explicit statements on the position of subordination Women must play from men, depriving it of complete independence and dignity as a person throughout his life. India is one of the few countries in the world where the population of women is lower than that of men (929 females per 1000 males) and where life expectancy is lower for women. Perhaps because of the discrimination they face even before he was born (in the upper classes are practiced today selective abortions based on the sex of the fetus), and that will continue throughout their lives. A gender discrimination, we must add the discrimination of class, caste, ethnicity and age. Born in a family environment and socio-cultural and economic conditions which are not conducive to their development as individuals, the discrepancy between the rights of men and women, is backed by the Indian Constitution, we must unite bias of the government, the absence of women in Parliament and in the bodies and councils making decisions that affect their lives .. Women occupy a secondary position in the family and society. From his childhood, receive poor food, the less care and attention relatives (there are instances in which do not get a name), poor health care and less education than male family members. Because of the culture of subsistence, are out of school at a very young age rather than her brothers, to work and help their families economically or to assist in tasks such as collecting firewood, water, cooking and caring for her younger siblings) . Girls also drop out of school when they are on duty with married men chosen by their families without their will, feelings and aspirations (weddings childhood in many cases are conducted to ensure the virginity of girls and to protect them from possible abuses and sexual assault). What usually is a serious trauma to the girls, who also lost family link, because you have to go and live with the family of her husband, so he was quite effective and economic investment that has fallen on the girl, and that she did not receive anything, as women, in most cases, are not involved in the family inheritance. Once deprived of their childhood and into adulthood launched a brutal, women perform the tasks harder and with greater health risk; responsibilities of reproduction, the sexual division of labor and a shortage of education and training, hindering access to wage labor of women by restricting their ability to work at the informal market in a position of inferiority, prostitution, and other work that the company does not want to assume. This situation is common to all social groups, but its consequences are devastating for poor women, which constitute the overwhelming majority of Indian women, for whom the lack of health facilities, health, food and education make it almost impossible that they can meet their basic needs and ensure the dignity they deserve as human beings. Poor women tend to reduce their food intake and to forgo health care and education. Many families end up selling their daughters or marry for money. Among males are common cases of alcoholism by the lack of resources to address the situation of poverty, which translates into violence and sexual abuse against women who have to bear the brunt of the livelihood of the family (usually be large because of the refusal of men to contraception). Beneath the cheerful and multiple colors of their sharees, their bodies and minds are punished by an equally diverse array of forms of discrimination: sex, employment, health, educational, legal, political and social, must disappear from India and all those countries not yet come to realize that there is no development without the full integration and development of women in society.
